NAPAFASA
NAPAFASA prevents and reduces substance use disorders and behavioral health addictions in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities through research, advocacy, education, and capacity building. Since its founding, NAPAFASA has been public-health and social-justice focused, especially concerning underserved AANHPI populations in relation to substance use disorders and related factors including mental health, primary health care, and other human service needs. NAPAFASA has provided alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and early intervention (PEI) devices, for more than 25 years, through its network of culturally competent staff, consultants, and community partners.
Programs and Services Offered:
Currently NAPAFASA offers technical assistance and training services on problem gambling throughout the state of California. This includes consultation, outreach, and training services to non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, and educators. NAPAFASA also has been working on eliminating second-hand smoke at tribal casino bus/shuttle pick-up locations in the Asian American community in San Gabriel Valley.
Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation (we may be able to reimburse mileage/bus fares)
