CSU Social media intern
Are you obsessed with finding and sharing stories online? Do your friends look to you on Facebook and Twitter for the latest trends, ideas, and online memes? Community Services Unlimited Inc. is a non-profit based in South Los with numerous programs and a social enterprise. CSU is a fast paced non-traditional work environment and we seek talented, committed individuals who crave learning new skills and aren’t afraid to tackle big projects. As the social media intern you will take direction from CSU’s Executive Director, get to work with a variety of our staff, and create real projects that will help us grow. You will learn new skills in how to run a social media campaign tailored to meet specific goals and outcomes and have an opportunity to use new portals like hootsuite.
Our ideal candidate is someone who walks into a room of people and can’t leave without making a few friends. Someone who is obsessed with social media and is creative but thoughtful when interacting with online communities and building relationships. You must have a strong working knowledge of social media, (Twitter, Facebook etc.), Microsoft Suite office, must be comfortable with organizing and handling large amounts of data, conducting viral marketing research and implementing social media campaigns in various formats.
Village Market Place Operations Intern:
Do you like fresh food, the smell, the feel, the variety we are lucky to have in Southern California? Do your friends think you are a bit of a foodie, obsessed with where the kale in your salad was grown and what was sprayed on it? Then this position is perfect for you! The Village Market Place is CSU’s food based social enterprise and as the operations intern you will assist with receiving farmer’s deliveries, packing produce orders for various customers, kitchen prep of produce for value added and for catering, management of large amounts of produce in a commercial kitchen etc. You will learn how to operate in a commercial kitchen setting to the standards required to earn a food handlers license. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, be comfortable researching on the internet, creating basic documents and entering data. You will a great team player who knows how to take follow directions and take initiative.
Village Market Place Business Admin Intern
Are you the person who walks into a beautifully restored home and all you can think about is how much did the work cost, and how does that measure against the monthly payment? Do you get a kick from playing with numbers, from entering data into systems so it can be analyzed and help drive the goals of a fast growing business. If this is you, then CSU’s social enterprise the Village Market Place needs you now! Assist with general administrative support such as data entry, filing, copying, but also learn how to pick relevant data to generate reports that help analyze growth trends and areas of stagnation. You will work directly with the VMP Business Manager and learn the skill of using numbers to define current status and create realistic goals for growth.
Earth Day South LA Intern
Do you love mental jigsaw puzzles? Do you like seeing a beautifully coordinated event emerge out of seeming chaos? Are you detail oriented? Earth Day South LA is CSU’s signature annual event that, show cases south LA talent to put on a high quality event featuring, art, music and food. As the EDSLA intern you will work directly with CSU’s core leadership team to carry out all and any tasks needed to implement the vision for the 2015 event.
