Restorative Justice Partners, Inc. (RJP)

Organization Description

RJP brings those who have been victimized together with those who have committed an offense with, families, and other community members together in restorative justice practices to create alternative resolution programs that foster empathy, accountability, and restoration of fairness. RJP, Inc. offers the following programs; Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP), Victim Impact Program (VIP), and Restorative Justice in the Schools. The process asks: what harm resulted, how might the harm be repaired, and who is responsible for restoration? 

Program & Services:

Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP)- a mediation process

Victim Impact Program (VIP)- Opportunity to help restore relationships in the community

RJ in the Schools: a restorative approach to supplement suspension, expulsion, and other "pipeline to prison" processes for administrators, teachers and students.

Agency is totally supported by local funding/grants.

 

Program Information

Seeking: RJ in the Schools Coordinator Intern

Intern Activities/Responsibilities: 

  • Support with program development/implementation & data collection/ reporting
  • Will work with the Coordinator of RJ in the Schools through development and implementation of the "RJ in the Schools" program at selected K-12 school sites
  • Might include supporting fundraising efforts
  • Provide on-site support to partnering schools
  • Facilitate workshop training/services to administrators, staff, students and community

Desired characteristics: experience with K-12 schools, detail oriented, reliable, yet flexible, interested in data entry, editing skills, bilingual and strong presentation skills
