Organization Description

UnChained provides California’s Central Coast youth with the opportunity for self-reflection and personal growth while training homeless dogs in need of adoption.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working in Santa Cruz, Monterey and Santa Clara Counties, UnChained teaches youth how to train homeless dogs in basic skills, manners and socialization, helping the dogs become adopted into permanent homes while the youth learn valuable life skills.

Program Information

Service opportunity doing dog training at Rancho Cielo and working with small groups of at-risk youth.

Administrative and Social Media opportunities may be open.  Please reach out if you are interested.

Sites are (subject to change):

  • Rancho Cielo, 710 Old Stage Road, Salinas
  • New Community Day School,160 Harkins Slough Rd., Watsonville

Depending on the site assigned, service learning students might need to obtain a Background Check.  Please check with Site Supervisor for service opportunities where a Background Check is not needed.
