Organization Description

Jacob's Heart is a non-profit agency whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and support their families with the challenges they face.  We serve families with children under the age of 18 diagnosed with cancer who live in Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and south Santa Clara counties  providing emotional, social, and financial assistance.  

Program Information

Interns will assist in day to day operations of running a non-profit. Interns will help us with our case management, fundraising, donations, outreach, and special events. Interns will be required to work together to create and implement programs to better our organization. Interns will assist us with our grocery delivery program and will help check up on our families as needed.

Community Engagement and Education Team (1 intern)

Jacob's Heart Community and Education team is responsible for the messaging, event production, volunteer coordination, outreach, and fundraising. An intern for this team will support the outreach to Monterey County, building relationships with businesses and community groups to build awareness of and support for Jacob's Heart. This intern will also assist at events and will be able to learn about fundraising and event coordination.

 

(currently not available) Family Support Services Intern  (2-3 interns)

The Family Support Services team provides direct service to families with a child in treatment, transitioning off treatment, and bereaved.  As an intern on this team, you would work alongside a Family Support Specialist.  An intern would assist with case management, art therapy, support groups, and our grocery delivery program.
