Organization Description

(CHISPA: Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association.) Develop, own and manage low-income housing.

CHISPA is the largest nonprofit affordable housing developer in Monterey County with over 30 years experience and over 2,000 affordable housing units for the area's low income residents.       
       
Program Information

CHHS intern will work directly with Community Services Coordinator to assist with the organization, planning and implementation of programs/services at various CHISPA multifamily rental properties. Services are to improve the health and educational outcomes for families and children living at the rental properties. The activities include computer literacy and access, after school programs, health education and screenings, youth sports programs, etc. Students would be working with various community partners to plan and implement services and events according to community needs. Current project is collaboration with VNA to focus on health outcomes for residents in Salinas housing complex.
