Organization Description

Kernes Pool provides therapeutic warm water exercise programs for children and adults with physical, emotional, or developmental challenges to maintain and improve health and quality of life.

Their 92 degree water and skilled staff foster comfort, dignity and hope through 15,000 hours of instruction and exercise each year. They offer a wide range of programs, from fully-assisted to independent exercise, as well as Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program classes.

The Josephine Kernes Memorial Pool has been an integral part of the Monterey Peninsula since 1972.

Program Information

Service Learners will have the opportunity to work with those who are disabled in therapeutic settings as wells as assisting disabled children and adults in water exercises and swim therapy programs. This is a great site for anyone who is considering a related career working with special needs.
