La Manzana Community Resources

Organization Description

At Community Bridges our mission is to deliver essential services, provide equitable access to resources, and advocate for health and dignity across every stage of life. Since 1977, Community Bridges has been a catalyst for a brighter future by providing basic resources for the people of Santa Cruz County. Our family of ten vital programs across 20 different sites serves thousands of local children, families, and seniors each year. While each program is remarkable on its own, together we are unstoppable.

Program Information

1) Direct Service: Student interns will function as Community Advocates. They will begin their training by getting familiar with community resources to provide information and referral for clients. Interns will then be trained on the brief needs assessment and followup procedures to engage in preventive case management. Interns must have computer skills and be able to work with an online database. Other projects/duties include attendance in staff meetings, participation in outreach events where LMCR is expected to have a presence, administrative duties, etc. One project is working with the Spanish Literacy and work with those individuals with help in coordination and tutoring. This would be specifically Monday and Wednesday 4-6pm.

2) Indirect service: 2 student interns to support non profit management, social media, and fund development.
