Ladd Lane Elementary School - Hollister School District (HSD)

Organization Description

The mission of the Hollister School District is to prepare each student for future success. Hollister is a growing community that still offers its residents the solitude of beautiful hills, open meadows, and a safe and relaxing quality of life. The Hollister School District is committed to academic excellence. The board-adopted guiding principles for the district are:

  • We believe every student, everyday, by name, by need will succeed
  • We believe in embracing the uniqueness of every child
  • We believe partnerships among all stakeholders must be valued and respected
  • We believe in community advocacy for the whole child
  • We believe that each student is everyone's responsibility
  • We believe that things that are measured get done

The district serves a student population of about 5,500 students. Around 40% of our student are English Learners. Much effort is given to support effective instruction practices which provide our students with a child-centered, standards-based education that also creates critical, creative thinkers. With open communication between schools and the community, strong support from parents, and clearly defined educational goals, we believe that all children will have the opportunity to meet their full potential and be productive members of society.
