Center for Human Services
Center for Human Services (CHS) was established as a local non-profit in 1970 to serve youth and families. Currently, CHS serves tens of thousands of children, individuals and families annually in Stanislaus County through six core program areas: Mental Health Services, Shelter Services, Youth Services, School Based Services, Substance Abuse Treatment and Family Resource Centers.
Volunteers provide additional support to existing services. This varies throughout the year. It can be anywhere from childcare, office clerk, reception, co-facilitation, mental heath interns (must be in the masters program), shelter staff (temporary runaway shelter program), etc.
Students will not be exposed to any type of high risk activities.
CHS standard safety protocols, i.e. emergency action plan, safety manual, emergency quick reference guide.
Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints, if required.
Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing, if required.

This may be an out-of-pocket expense for individuals. These requirements vary depending on the program the individual is placed within.
