Program Information

Intern Duties:

Hours: 10-15hrs/week, 3 month commitment

Report To: Kingsley Hunnicutt- Volunteer Coordinator

Introduction

  • Go on a Home Visit
  • Have student go to the website to learn more about World Relief, watch the faces of resettlement videos, organize which info on the CORE website is useful or not
  • Help with driving to appointments.(To meet refugees and get experiences interacting with them.)

Volunteer Appreciation

  • Send out thank you cards to our drivers and airport pick up 
  • Assist with planning and coordinating events- volunteer appreciation day and world refugee day
  • Create Flyers
  • Call grocery stores to get food donations and create donation letter to give to stores

Administrative Tasks

  • Input in-kind donations into GIVE
  • Update volunteers and donors' contact info into GIVE
  • Help create PPT for Ultipro so volunteers understand how to apply for jobs, create an account, etc.
  • Organize volunteer applications, Shred the ones older than 3 yrs.

Grant Writing To Raise Funds

  • Brainstorm Ideas to raise awareness about WR in our community

Employment Team

  • Choose a tentative date
  • See R&P caseworker for list of invitees
  • Develop flyer
  • List any resources needed for event (volunteers for mock interviews, and etc.)
  • Train our refugees using our materials and PPTs
