Program Information

The CHHS Intern will work on community engagement projects that support the health and well-being of our Monterey County communities. These will include the enLACE Academy (Leadership And Civic Engagement Academy); a community civic engagement program, in addition to community projects that support active transportation in Monterey County with a focus on South County communities. These active transportation projects will include a community health conference, Ciclovia (open streets) and other community activities and events as well as policy work that supports active transportation.

The student will be working with staff from the Monterey County Health Department’s Planning, Evaluation and Policy (PEP) unit. The Planning, Evaluation and Policy unit addresses three primary areas: facilitating the Health Dept. strategic plan, aligning and monitoring the performance standards with national public health accreditation, and addressing social and environmental policies and practices.

General Description: Student intern will support community engagement in public health projects.
