Organization Description

Korean churches for Community Development (KCCD)’s mission is to advance the Asian American community’s participant, contribution, and influence through faith-based and community partnerships.To achieve our mission, KCCD strengthens the communities in which we serve by building the capacities of Asian American faith and community organizations, assisting low-income community members, and working to revitalize neighborhoods. To date, we have garnered over 300 partners across the nation, ranging from the white house to fortune 500 companies, local non-profit organizations, and key institutional stakeholders.

Korean churches for community Development (KCCD), applies data driven research and cultural understanding of the housing disparities impacting (AAPI) and low-income communities to develop comprehensive homeownership programs and services according to the needs of the community. KCCD is also one of the approved housing counseling agencies in the city of Los Angeles to provide certificates as a prerequisite for down payment assistance programs. KCCD also provides Pre-Purchase Counseling, Foreclosure Prevention Counseling, Homeownership and Foreclosure Fairs and REO Property Acquisition and Rehabilitation.

Program Information

Korean churches for community Development (KCCD), applies data driven research and cultural understanding of the housing disparities impacting (AAPI) and low-income communities to develop comprehensive homeownership programs and services according to the needs of the community. KCCD is also one of the approved housing counseling agencies in the city of Los Angeles to provide certificates as a prerequisite for down payment assistance programs. KCCD also provides Pre-Purchase Counseling, Foreclosure Prevention Counseling, Homeownership and Foreclosure Fairs and REO Property Acquisition and Rehabilitation. To date, we have educated over 8,000 potential homebuyers and have helped to secure over $1.4 million in down payment assistance to low income homebuyers. KCCD has successfully saved over $87 million in mortgages from going into foreclosure and through the keep your home California Program successfully counseled homeowners to receive over $1.8 million in mortgage assistance. We serve the community not only in the housing sector but we also provide community stabilization initiatives such as:

• Lighting the Community Summit (via The White House in D.C.)
• Young Emerging Leaders Program (YELP)
• Digital Literacy and Broadband Access
• Mental Health Collaborative and Speakers Initiative
• Job Training
