Organization Description

The Monterey County Health Department exists to enhance, protect, and improve the health Monterey County residents and environments. MCHD provides a wide variety of health-related services in the areas of behavioral health, clinic services, emergency management services, environmental health, public guardianship, and public health.

Program Information

County of Monterey, Health Department Strategic Plan aims to address policies and practices that will support equitable health outcomes for Monterey County residents.

CHHS Interns will work on projects that support internal or external health equity initiatives.

CHHS Interns will gain access to a wide variety of experiences that support working in a multidisciplinary environment that centers on building and fostering relationships throughout the health department.
