Organization Description

The objectives of the East Los Angeles Community Youth Center (ELACYC) are to provide academic and recreational programs designed for at-risk youth between the ages of 7 to 17. Our goal is to promote the values of family, community, individual responsibility and citizenship.

Programs and Services Offered

The ELACYC serves children ages 5-17. It is a safe haven for more than 1,000 young people and their families accessing the educational and fitness programs each year.The current scope of services are divided into four areas: Tutorial Assistance,The arts, sports and physical fitness and Family Services.

  • Learning and Arts Center provides after-school educational and academic resources such as homework assistance, computer learning, tutoring, arts, crafts, and social activities.
  • Athletic facilities include a Basketball Center, Boxing Center, Aquatics Center and Racquetball Court.
  • There are plans to include nutrition, health and leadership programs to enhance the ELACYC's overall program delivery. All programs promote the value of family and personal responsibilty.

There are currently no background check requirements at this time.

The ELACYC does reserve the right to implement background checking procedures in the future.
