Organization Description

CAUSE is a base-building organization committed to social, economic, and environmental justice for working-class and immigrant communities in California’s Central Coast. We build grassroots power through community organizing, leadership development, coalition building, civic engagement, policy research, and advocacy. CAUSE has neighborhood chapters in Oxnard, Santa Paula, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Santa Maria.

Health & Safety

A driver's license is preferred due to outreach students may be conducting in the community that may not always be easily accessible by public transit. Depending on the project, work with CAUSE may involve door-to-door outreach or other events outside of our office.

Students may park in the building parking lot, then check in with the site supervisor. Training and orientation will be provided.

SUPERVISION

  • Students may be working at other site locations (Oxnard & Santa Paula).
  • Students may be working after 6 pm at this site.
Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • SUPERVISION: Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm).
  • SUPERVISION: Students will be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be responsible for overseeing more than 8 people.
