Learning Equipment Supply Service
The mission of this business is to strategically and efficiency assist underfunded and overburdened schools by equiping teachers and students with appropriate STEM learning tools a nd technical support. Founded in the midst of very tough times for Los Angeles school budgets, LESS serves active teacher-learners who are limited by budget and time butnot by imagination.
There two known risks associated with placement within LESS:
i. Some lab materials may present inherent safety issues, such as hot plates and various household chemicals. In such cases, LESS take three actions to mitigate the risks: first, LESS will seek to assign EPIC volunteers who already have expierence with similar materials from their undergraduate science coursework; second, LESS will provide specific safety training session: third, LESS will provide the necessary peronal protective equiptment (PPE) and enforce the proper usage of the PPE by volunteers.
ii. Some school sites are located on or near busy streets, so volunteers must travel carefully and find parking carefully too, if driving. Although LESS does not claim responsibilty for accidents that occur off-campus, we strongly urge volunteers to be extra careful when approaching and when leaving the school site.
