Organization Description

Our company was built on a desire to produce and sell premium quality walnuts using the most efficient methods possible. Our goal is to provide cost efficient processing and superior service to both growers and customers and help manage operations from the orchard to the marketplace. This concept is the foundation of our company and hence our name Grower Direct Nut Company.

 

Efficiency, quality, food safety and traceability are at the foundation of our plant design. Located in Hughson, California in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, our plant includes approximately 220,000 square feet of walnut processing and storage facilities, including 48,000 square feet of temperature and humidity controlled cold storage.

We are one of the larger walnut processors in the state housing one of the most modern shelling units in the industry, sophisticated laser sorters and x-ray machinery for the removal of shell and foreign material. In addition to shelling and cleaning operations we sort and screen products for size, color and grade. Our cutting lines are capable of producing diced product and walnut meal to meet any customer’s specification.

 

Program Information

QC Technicians will be responsible fro overseeing the quality of the product being packed on all lines of production during their shift. It is the duty of QC personnel to inform production supervisors and or manager of any discrepany during packing to improve or correct the quality of the product. 

Responsible for sorting walnuts during production process of GDN, HQ and GDN in shell. 

Health & Safety

Will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell. Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 20 pounds frequently. Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute). Will work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, risk of vibration, tolerance to extremely loud noise.
