Program Description:Rubicon's mission is to prepare very low-income people to achieve financial independence and to partner with people withmental illness on their journey of recovery.  We provide a broad range of high-impact services focused on helping people have full and fulfilling lives.  Our recovery based  services include:  case management, housing services and supports, individual counseling, wellness groups and classes, money management, and medication services.

Clientele Served:Seriously and persistently mentally ill (clients with schizophrenia and other psychotic-spectrum disorder) and clients presenting with a variety of other mental health problems:  substance abuse and dual diagnosis; trauma; depression,  anxiety and major mood disorders (Bipolar disorders).  Most of our clients are grappling with a variety of issues related to poverty, trauma, and difficulties negotiating aspects of their daily lives as a result of their mental condition..

Intern Assignments:We have interns placed in all programs:  Wellness and Recovery Continuum (WRC) at our Bissell site in Richmond and also in Concord; in our Mental Health Services Act Program  (MHSA) where we have sites both in Richmond and in Concord; in our Housing program in Richmond; and in our CalWorks program in Richmond.

Intern Training & Educational Opportunities:Depending on the program and location, interns will have an opportunity to do case management activities out in the field, provide individual psychotherapy, run therapy and wellness groups, and conduct assessments
