Organization Description

It Takes Little to be BIG. BBBS is Enrolling "BIGS" if you have the time we have local youth waiting!
By giving just 8-12 hours of your time each month to a local child, you can help realize their potential.

This organization is approved for students to serve at the following sites:

  1. Main Office: 428 C Street, Suite G, Eureka

  2. Bowl for Kids Sake: 2136 Broadway - Harbor Lanes, in Eureka

Health & Safety

Students applying to become a Big Brother or Big Sister are required to pass a background check, conducted by North Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters (NCBBBS) via Verified Volunteers. Once sure of your service, NCBBBS  will send you a link for the background check and you can choose to pay at that time or not. The cost is $37.00, however, there is no pressure to pay (many volunteers choose to take on that cost to help support NCBBBS programs). For students however, NCBBS does NOT want this to be a determinant in your choice for volunteering or not with this agency.This requirement is not necessary for volunteering only at NCBBBS events such as Bowl for Kids Sake.

Background check via online- Verified Volunteers, which is paid for by BBSNC.
