Blue Lake Museum

Organization Description

Devoted to railroading, logging, and living in the Mad River Valley, the 1897 depot is full of artifacts from the booming days of Redwood Country.

The Railroad, the oldest on the north coast, is a Registered California State Historic Landmark. The museum is maintained and staffed by volunteers and is funded solely by memberships, donations, and fundraisers.

OPEN Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday 1-4 April through September. Winter hours by appt. 707-668-4188 or 707-668-5416. The Blue Lake Museum, a free public museum, is housed in the former Arcata & Mad River Railroad depot at Railroad and G Streets.
