Program Information

Receive a $500 educational stipend!!!A BLAST Mentor is a trusted college student who serves as a consistent, caring role model for a younger student. We partner with LBUSD schools to match mentors with mentees, fostering academic growth, personal development, and meaningful connections. This is a full-year commitment: 20 mentorship hours in the Fall and 20 in the Spring, totaling at least 40 hours over 16 weeks. Mentors who meet this requirement and are enrolled as college students at the start of Fall 2025 will receive a $500 educational stipend in May 2026. Our mentors come from diverse majors. Think back to when you wished someone had encouraged you academically and offered life tips. Now, you can be that person for someone else.

*Failure to complete the required 40 hour minimum and full year commitment would mean loss of eligibility to receive the stipend.

All students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, are open and welcome to participate.
