Desert mountain vegetation, ancient bristlecone pine forest (Schulman Grove, Inyo National Forest).

Health & Safety

Ability to deal with high altitude (approx 10,000 ft above sea level), uneven, rocky, sandy desert and mountain terrain, potentially hot daytime temperatures & potentially cold nighttime temperatures and wind.  Awareness of rattlesnakes (typically shy but bite is poisonous). Additional wildlife is also in the area. A detailed information sheet has been available for several weeks on the BIOL 456 Moodle page.
