The Monterey County Health Department exists to enhance, protect, and improve the health Monterey County residents and environments. MCHD provides a wide variety of health-related services in the areas of behavioral health, clinic services, emergency management services, environmental health, public guardianship, and public health.

Program Information

The Active Transportation and Safe Routes to School position is an exciting opportunity for CHHS interns to work with the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention team, agency, and community partners to promote active transportation options in an effort to increase students’ physical exercise and improve health.  The intern will assist in the design and production of flyers, presentations, promotional materials, community events planning, distribution of pedestrian and bicycle safety information, helmet fittings, presentations at schools, interviews, focus groups, and pre and post surveys. Other duties as assigned.
