Program Information

Interns at Salinas Union High School District Wellness Centers support the Intervention Specialists and Wellness Center teams with data collection of services, aid in the implementation of evidence-based interventions for students, and help to create promotional materials for the Wellness Center so students and families know how to access services. 

Tasks may include administrative work such as data entry and aiding in signing-in students when they enter the WC. Additional tasks may include event and intervention planning, outreach to families, and supporting a positive school climate and wellness through lesson/presentation creations, among other opportunities.

Interns develop skills in student support planning, consulting with other school roles to support students, being in a multidisciplinary team, electronic and verbal communication, time management, community-building, and group facilitation, integrating wellness strategies when working with youth among other skills.

Health & Safety

All students will be required to have a TB test and Fingerprinting, and show COVID-19 vaccination card, prior to starting their service hours.

  • Students will complete the required personnel training during onboarding (Suicide Prevention, Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, Human Trafficking).
