ASES is seeking volunteers to assist ASES Aides in classes after school.<br /> ASES Volunteers under the supervision of ASES Aides in classrooms of 20 students in grades 3-8, on tutoring, homework assistance, and educational enrichment (fun activities on Fridays). <br /> <br /> Many ASES students are from low-income families and are 1st generation English language learners. ASES Volunteers will be assisting in our goal to help our students increase reading comprehension and fluency in English.<br /> <br /> This is a phenomenal opportunity for people seeking careers in teaching because it affords you experience in the classroom and exposes you to the thrill of seeing young minds expand.<br /> <br /> It?s easy to get involved!<br /> 1. Whether you can volunteer 2 hours a week or 8 hours a week, you are welcome with ASES! <br /> ? You will have the option to get certified. This means that if an ASES Aide is unable to work the day you volunteer, you can lead the class in his/her place and earn money!<br /> <br /> Where and When:<br /> Locations are within the Buena Park School District. You have the option of working with elementary school students or Junior High students.<br /> <br /> Volunteer opportunities are Monday-Friday from 2:00 p.m. ? 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> This commitment is through June 13, 2008.</p>
