Wellness Center at Galileo Academy of Science and Technology

An intern would be invited to support health outreach & education for: tobacco prevention, alcohol & drugs use, sexual health, emotional and behavioral health, and nutrition. An intern can also assist in developing and implementing curriculum for an empowerment/support group focusing on healthy decision-making and/or health education. There may be opportunities to assist with classroom activities within Galileo’s Health Education Department, as well as support our Wellness team with day-to-day operations and school-wide health awareness events during the semester. An intern may also assist with the expansion and growth of health education focus on our Galileo Wellness website. An intern could be responsible for helping to organize, develop, and facilitate health education events, presentations, curriculum and written materials. We would invite the intern to participate as a member of our Wellness team, which includes attending Wellness team meetings and related meetings within the school community. An intern will be responsible for documenting educational projects and activities, while adhering to the Wellness Initiative’s documentation and confidentiality standards. There may be opportunity for group as well as individual work, depending on abilities o the intern and needs of the students at Galileo.
