Organization Description

The Youth Leadership Institute’s community-based programs foster meaningful partnerships between youth and adults to create positive social change. Working on the ground in urban, suburban, and rural communities, YLI's community-based programs address the issues affecting youth in their communities.Through our decades of youth leadership development, we consistently see young people’s deep motivation to challenge and improve the society in which they live. YLI fosters this passion, providing ways for youth to channel it into effective community change.

Program Information

The intern work will include interviewing youth development professionals, YLI youth and community residents impacted by program and working with YLI staff to assist in production of YLI events that may include cornerstore makeovers, press conferences, events with elected officials, etc. Duties may include developing program success marketing tool based on information collected from program participants and adult advisors; Interviewing key community based organizations, youth and partnersl; Executing behind the scene activities at youth-led events including event registration, event documentation through photography or video recording, developing event production materials, A/V technical assistance, etc.
