Organization Description

18 Reasons empowers our community with the confidence and creativity needed to buy, cook, and eat good food every day. In our 18th St classroom we offer classes and dinners from basic knife skills to advanced techniques, and open our doors every month for community dinners. Beyond our classroom, our Cooking Matters program offers free cooking and nutrition classes to low-income adults, teens and kids. We reach over 2,000 people every year through our Cooking Matters program.

Program Information

Interns will help coordinate every aspect of the Cooking Matters program and  learn about volunteer management, program coordination, evaluation, and partnerships. Interns will work in a variety of settings, including our office as well as many partner organizations. Interns will be responsible for managing volunteers, coordinating classes, communicating with host sites, and conducting evaluations. Interns will also have the opportunity to teach if that is of interest.
