Organization Description

The Alameda Family Services, School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) are youth focused health centers located on 3 high school campuses in Alameda. Our mission is to break down barriers that prevent youth from accessing health care by offering free medical, mental health, health education and youth development services on school grounds.

Program Information

Interns will aid in researching and developing pregnancy and STI prevention efforts as well as developing and facilitating youth friendly classroom presentations on relevant teen health issues including; sexual health, stress, body image, drugs and alcohol, and healthy relationships. Interns will also conduct individual sexual health education appointments, create and disseminate outreach materials to promote SBHC services, develop health promotion materials such as postcards, pamphlets, posters ect, develop and implement interactive health promotion activities and events, assist with SBHC daily office duties, as well as assist with Data tracking and entry.
