Organization Description

CJCJ is a non-partisan, non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce society’s use of incarceration as a solution to social problems. CJCJ pursues its goals through a unique combination of direct services, technical assistance, and policy analysis that promote balanced and humane criminal justice practices. Currently, CJCJ operates 13 model direct service programs in the field of juvenile and criminal justice, and various technical assistance projects to with foundations and local juvenile and criminal justice stakeholders.The agency’s dedicated presence in the state capitol has allowed us to exercise vital influence through frequent contact with key decision makers, organized stakeholder meetings, and formal and informal informational sessions.

Program Information

For students interested in policy work related to formerly incarcerated and incarcerated populations this would be an appropriate placement. CJCJ incorporates relevant health related values and practices into it's policy and advocacy work.
