La Clinica de La Raza (Fremont Tiger Clinic)
La Clínica de La Raza, Inc (La Clinica) is a community health center founded in 1971 to improve the health of residents of Oakland and has grown to be one of the largest non profit health providers in the wide Bay Area. La Clinica has delivered health services to students at School Based Health Centers in Alameda County for 15 years. In 2013, La Clínica’s eight School Based Health Centers served over 3,500 students with primary medical care, behavioral health services, health education and oral health. La Clínica provides culturally and linguistically responsive services to diverse students and uses a youth focused integrated model to reach students that otherwise face barriers to care. La Clínica’s Tiger Clinic is located in Oakland and serves more than 500 Fremont High School students annually with integrated health and wellness services. The Tiger Clinic staff provide primary medical services, individual and classroom health education, behavioral health and first aid services. The Tiger Clinic also runs the on campus Youth Wellness Advisory Board, leads peer to peer health education programs, and advocates to make changes to the campus and community food environment.
