Organization Description

A hub for Japanese and Japanese American arts and culture and a community gathering place for the diverse voices it inspires—Japanese American Cultural & Community Center connects traditional and contemporary; community participants and creative professionals; Southern California and the world beyond.

Program Information

JACCC produces a number of events each year through our various departments. The Community Engagement department hosts Hinamatsuri (Girl's Day), Fiesta Matsuri (Children's Day), Nisei Week at JACCC, FandangObon, Children's Oshogatsu Workshop, and Ukes for Little Tokyo. Visual and Cultural Arts curates installations in the Doizaki Gallery and hosts a number of workshops at JACCC or neighboring institutions. Culinary Arts holds 4-6 workshops a year teaching patrons various Japanese dishes.
