Agricultural workplace that is offering hands on experience for quality control throughout the different stages of production. 

Program Information
  • Description:
    • The seasonal Quality Control Technician (QCT) is expected to act towards their fellow colleagues in a professional, communicative, coordinated and respectful manner during the time of employment. The technician has different tasks throughout the different stages of our production season, having as a main mission to evaluate the quality of our tomato seeedlings and reporting to the supervisor(s) if there are any abnormalities that should be taken care of.
  • Responsiblities:
    • Obtain germination percentages by counting a determined sample size of trays for every produced parcel.
    • Evalute our tomato seedlings for differeent parameters.
    • Keep accurate and clear records filled by hand and computer.
    • Manage internal computer software to input information.
    • Identify parcels and hand out important paperwork to different colleagues.
    • Participate in special projects.
  • Requirements:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
    • Agricultural knowledge is preferred.
    • Ability and knowledge of MS Office and different computer programs.
    • Sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods while using hands and arms.
    • Occasional lifting.
    • Bilingual: English-Spanish is preferred.
  • Notes:
    • Salary: $13.30/Hr
    • This is an hourly nonovertime-exempt position with ag. overtime counted above 10 hours.
    • Schedules are to be arranged futher advance in the hiring process, and typically between 20-25 hours are worked per week.
Health & Safety

The work conditions will be different and can be harsh at some points of the season. The technican is aware that they can be required to work indoors, outdoors, and inside our greenhouses. Some of the weather condintions that can be present are: sun, heat, dust,cold, rain, mud, odors, allergens, including pesticdes and any other environmental factor commonly found in any agricultural environment.
