Program Information NorthEast of the Well is a non-denominational Christian ministry operating in Orange County and Long Beach, California. Our chief mission is to bring God???s Word into places of desperate need: to county programs, transitional shelters, jails, safe houses. We provide an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ and to experience His grace, individually and alongside others who have walked in their shoes. As a result, the outcast becomes the witness to other hurting people. 70% of the individuals we reach come from families where chronic addiction, incarceration and abuse were prevalent going back two or more generations. Most have been through a series of recovery programs, have lost custody of children, have been incarcerated repeatedly, have been trafficked or used prostitution to support their lifestyles. Today, we serve 300 women, children and men each week at 15 separate gatherings. These include on-site Bible studies at residential programs, three community gatherings serving a broader population, and small discipleship groups designed to equip and empower new believers. We also reach out to local incarcerated youth through OC Men???s Jail, Juvenile Hall and Youth Guidance Center. The success of our ministry model relies upon a combined focus on God???s Word, paired with intentional relationships and Christian community to change the direction of lives, and to impact the next generation. We foster a holistic approach by partnering with a wide range of service providers, churches and other organizations to support people on their journey from dependence to independence.
