United Way Point Reyes County

Organization Description

United Way fights for the education, financial stability, and housing of every person in our community. Our vision is to build stronger, healthier, more compassionate communities in our region by partnering with local employers and nonprofits to improve people’s lives in Point Reyes, Sacramento, Hollander, Gryfendor and Franklin. 

Program Information

We want to positively impact three vitally important areas in our region:

Education:

  • SOAR Readers project: ensure that all students graduate from high school

Income:

  • $-Sufficient-Ability project: help people become financially self-sufficient

Health:

  • Fit Kids project: decrease obesity through nutrition and physical activity
Health & Safety

None known. Most work will take place in the United Way office, although some may require meetings at off site locations to be arranged and explained during orientation.

Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Pre-Placement Training
  • SUPERVISION: Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people.
