Surge Music Studio - Youth Education Program

Organization Description

Here at Surge Music Studio, our mission is to provide quality music instruction from top notch professionals, in a relaxed, safe and fun environment. SMS forms bands, hosts biannual recitals and students have opportunities to play in the local community!

Program Information

Our Youth Music Program is the pro-bono component of our studio. It is designed to provide a safe, fun and creative avenue for youth and young adults, ages 5-25 who have special needs with free, quality music instruction from top notch professional musicians and volunteers. Each year, our students, instructors and volunteers perform at the Point Reyes New Year's Day parade.

Health & Safety

Because we work with young people who have special needs, we have every instructor and volunteer or intern undergo a 2-hour orientation. Youth with severe disabilities will have assistants with them; volunteers are not be expected to lift, move or provide any form of health services to our clients.
