American River Montessori

Organization Description

We strive to provide a stimulating environment so your child can develop to his or her fullest potential. To do this, we teach by the Montessori philosophy. Dr. Maria Montessori discovered that children – especially preschoolers – learn through their five senses. Dr. Montessori developed individual learning tasks or “jobs” to promote active learning for daily life, sensorial skills, language, math, art and culture.

In addition, our curriculum includes Spanish instruction, a Music Together® program, a yoga program, and our Garden of Learning.

American River Montessori opened on June 1, 2008. This Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten is in a newly-built environment with a large outdoor setting located in Historic Old Town Folsom. We offer a school year program (September to May) with enrollment open to children 2-½ to 6 years. Applications are considered without regard of race, color, religion, national or ethnic origins. Children must be toilet trained. Five-day, three-day and two-day programs are being offered at three hours per session with both morning and early afternoon sessions.

We also offer year-round tutoring services for kids Pre-K through 6th grade, summer academic and fun camps for various ages, and special events throughout the year.
