Organization Description

The English Language Institute prepares students with the skills needed for successful study in an American university environment. The curriculum emphasizes intensive language learning in all areas of ESL (grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary, speaking, listening and pronunciation). Classes are intended for serious, studious, self-directed students with academic and/or professional goals.

Program Information

The English Language Institute (ELI) serves over 1000 students from many countries from around the world on an annual basis. The primary objective of service is to assist non-native English speakers with the skills necessary to acquire fluency in English. The ELI introduces students to American culture. The ELI assists with transitioning students from an intensive English program to an academic program. The ELI also provides general English skills for business, travel and educational purposes.
