Program Information

The Cardiovascular Wellness Program (CWP) at Sacramento State provides an affordable and comprehensive applied exercise and education program for individuals interested in improving their cardiovascular health. The focus is on developing and maintaining a heart-healthy lifestyle through exercise, stress management, and nutrition. For those who have had cardiac events, they must have completed monitored phases of a hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation program or be at least 12 months post-event. The program offers a variety of options, including individual exercise, group exercise, educational classes, health discussions, and nutrition and stress management practice opportunities.

Volunteer staff, program coordinator all provide supervision. We have a skills checklist that is completed first few weeks of participation.
