Turlock Police Department
In the heart of California's Central Valley, Turlock is the second largest city in Stanislaus County, with a population that has grown steadily from 13,992 in 1970 to 72,219 today. Turlock has become economically sound, agriculturally elite, and continues to seek growth and development that complements the city’s business and industry and the needs of its residents. Cultural art experiences, sports activities, twenty-four parks, twenty one schools, and a full range of medical facilities.
Students may be: working in areas with high crime rates or incidents of violence; in contact with individuals with substance abuse, criminal backgrounds including violent crimes; working in environments where fire arms are present; working in areas with gang activity; working in areas with drug paraphernalia present.
Risks associated with riding in a patrol car may include (not limited to) exposure to dangerous persons and situations, high speed driving and road hazards, civil disturbances, and exposure to persons with communicable diseases.
Due to specified risks noted above and in compliance with the Affordable CareAct, students are responsible for assuring they have appropriate health insurance coverage. Neither the University nor the site provides any healthcare coverage for students participating with this city department.
