Opportunity Summary 

Service Learning students will work with staff and residents on a variety of activities relating to sustainable living. Activities may include:

  • working with the CVC community gardens,
  • developing educational workshops on sustainability,
  • identifying environmental issues facing this community and exploring ways to promote policy change to address those issues.
Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Risks depend on the type of activity. Community gardening requires the use of gardening implements, walking and working on uneven ground, physical exertion, and exposure to sun, heat, and inclement weather.
