Organization Description

I am an individual artist contracted with the Soraya for the Future Currents Project. The mission of that project is to engage students in a variety of art, design and performance opportunities around the subject of the Los Angeles River. I am making sculptures and helping musicians develop instruments made out of non native vegetation from the LA River. My sculptures' linear elements are connected by 3d printed recycled plastic "connectors" made out of upcycled plastic from throw away bottles of the sort that so often clogs waterways and oceans.

Program Information

Color printing. One student will assist with an ecological project where we need visual materials printed. 3d plastic printing with PET and PETG. One student will help printing some of the connectors I have designed.

Health & Safety

The site is adjacent to a public access bike path. We provide talk about how to safely cross the path. The site is nearby the LA River in Elysian Valley. We provide a river safety talk and avoid being close to river during any rain or flood conditions.
