Organization Description

At Community Bridges our mission is to deliver essential services, provide equitable access to resources, and advocate for health and dignity across every stage of life. Since 1977, Community Bridges has been a catalyst for a brighter future by providing basic resources for the people of Santa Cruz County. Our family of ten vital programs across 20 different sites serves thousands of local children, families, and seniors each year. While each program is remarkable on its own, together we are unstoppable.

Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: Helping with the after school tutoring program, working directly with youth. Program development and planning for our spring break Ocean Scholars program, and summer activities. Helping to plan and implement outreach to the community. Program support with client intake and record keeping. Other aspects of our social services program as needed such as food distribution and other client services.

Key Responsibilities: Working with children, mentoring, tutoring, homework help. Keeping accurate records, checking students in, etc.. Planning, creating, and supporting activities and outreach.

Special Considerations: Some familiarity with Spanish is a plus.

Trainings offered or required: We will go through a short orientation by PowerPoint before beginning. On the job training will be provided by the on-site mentor.

Health & Safety

ADA requirements: Stand and walk for periods of time, lift 20lbs, visibility and dexterity to operate pc and fill out forms
