Organization Description

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Sacramento Alhambra Campus, in the heart of Oak Park, provides a comprehensive education, prevention and intervention program for children in all stages of life - preschool through high school.

Program Information

Early Care and Education program for 40 income eligible families, expanding in spring 2012. State licensed 'School Age' program provides before and after school education and recreation for 36 children from schools in Oak Park. The Community Center sponsors 3 seasons of co-ed recreational basketball leagues for as many as 250-300 children 6-17 years. The Community Center will also be expanding in Spring of 2012 to include drop in programs for children, seniors and families in the Oak Park area.
