Opportunity Summary 

Position Description

The Foundations accountant will report directly to the Foundations Treasurer, Gary Beason, MBA, CPA. Principal responsibilities will be to assist the Treasurer in the compilation of the Foundations cash basis financial statements and its federal and state tax returns. Additional opportunities may also exist for the accountant to assist with the work paper files required by the Foundations independent CPA's in the audit of the Foundations financial statements.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

The learning objective will be introduce an accounting student to the tasks required in the compilation of cash basis financial statements. The student will hopefully develop the skill to compile a basic set of cash basis financial statements.

Desired Qualifications

A student with the desire to learn to compile cash basis financial statements who has completed at least two semesters of introductory accounting courses. A student who is a declared accounting major is preferred but not required.

 

Length of Position: One or two semesters

Hours per Week: Two hours (approximately eight to ten hours monthly).
