Center for the Pacific Asian Family
CPAFs mission is to build healthy and safe communities by addressing the root causes and consequences of family violence and violence against women. We are committed to meeting the specific cultural and language needs of Asian Pacific Islanders (API) women and their families.
CPAF is a nonprofit organization serving low-income API survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their children. CPAF provides innovative, culturally responsive programs and services to address and prevent domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in the API community in greater Los Angeles County.
CPAF’s services are multilingual, multicultural, free of charge, and include a 24-hour crisis line in 30 API languages/dialects, drop-in appointments at our community center, an emergency shelter (providing basic needs, food, counseling, and advocacy support) for up to 6 months, and transitional housing (where families receive ongoing emotional support and assistance with job/housing searches) for up to 12 months. CPAF's community programs promote awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, and implement prevention strategies with youth, adult allies, community partners and schools.
Participants will engage with community members & clients who have experienced trauma related to domestic & sexual violence; some disclosures or topics of discussion may be triggering.
