Organization Description

The CHSSC is a public history organization and our mission is to:

  •  bring together people with a mutual interest in the history and historical role of Chinese and Chinese Americans in Southern California
  •  pursue, preserve and communicate knowledge of this history
  •  promote the heritage of the Chinese and Chinese American community in support of a better appreciation our multicultural heritage
Program Information

~* organizing reference library and archives
* digital scanning of archival items
* developing and updating walking tour handbook and support materials
* updating web site design and content
* assisting administrator with exhibit preparation
* oral history interviews of community pioneers, leaders, and workers
* photo documentation of community features
