REMOTE MMV Talent Agency InternAt — MMV Agency

Opportunity Summary

Unpaid: Academic Credit Required

Assist theatrical agent with the day to day duties of running a talent agency. Students will have access to all the information that is needed to run an agency. They will be able to see breakdowns to know what roles are being cast and what casting directors are looking for. They will be able to see how residuals are paid and contracts are negotiated. They will be able to read scripts and learn how to visualize a client in a role before casting has had a chance to release a character breakdown. They will attend meetings held by SAG-AFTRA union to be up to date on changes within the industry. They will view plays and meet with actors, directors, and writer on sets to have a better grasp of what their day to day jobs consist of.

There will be a lot of one on one supervision during the process. The students will shadow me and be given the opportunity to ask questions and gain understanding before they are given a chance to attempt what they have seen. Afterwards they will be evaluated and given opportunity for additional questions and more chances for improvement.

The student will walk away with the knowledge of running a talent agency. They will learn all the aspects that go into developing a successful business in this industry. They will gain experience that they can use to go work at a talent agency upon graduation or even start their own agency such as I have done. They will learn the art of negotiation, how to pitch clients for projects, and what to look for when scouting clients. I want them to walk away with the insight that was imparted to me as an assistant that leads me to where I am today.
