Opportunity Summary 

Position Description

  • Conducting community health needs assessments in particular regions or cities determined by the site supervisor.
  • Researching existing community health needs assessment templates and using those to refocus the existing AHA template. 
  • Conducting resource and services assessment of county hospitals and clinics. 
  • Support the planning and implementation of a health education event for a local construction company.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

  • Understand how to plan for, perform, and present findings from a community health needs assessment.
  • Apply research and outreach tools to effectively collect and organize hospital and clinic resources and services. 
  • Understand the process around planning, implementing, and evaluating a workplace health education event.

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently lives in San Diego County
  • Background in Public Health
  • Prior experience working in the health field
  • Reliable transportation

Length of position 3-6 months

Hours per week 10-20
